本次冬季新番中受人注目，由同名輕小說改編而成的動畫－－「狼と香辛料」(台灣譯為狼與辛香料)已播送了四話。在此特別要介紹的是它的 ED －－りんご日和，由 Rocky Chack 演唱，為一首節奏輕快，曲調可愛的歌曲。

與ひぐらしのなく頃に有銜接又相異頗大的續作。雖然動畫分成兩作來放送。以原作來看則是遊戲的後半部分而已。
跟前作相比，明顯少了很多番茄醬。所謂的「解」，指的是解除、解脫。因此，本作主軸放在主角一行人致力於擺脫雛見沢的特殊情況。過程忽略了很多前作出現的血腥鏡頭，相對地，將熱血、努力等主題明顯帶出來。是風格與前作炯異的一部作品。
也許是改編不完全，總覺得有些鏡頭很突兀。例如續作開場，暗示了只有一人活下來，最終話顯示的卻完全不同，這種前後伏筆沒有銜接的感覺，讓開場顯得多餘。大結局之後的鏡頭，似乎想帶入時空輪迴的現象，但是斷得太突然，對話也過份隱晦不明，這兩部分算是最不能讓人理解的。
